Whole-system duct and dryer vent check with before-and-after photos - you see exactly what came out of your vents
That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

AfterAir Duct Cleaning Company in Decatur, GA
Air duct cleaning in Decatur, GA typically costs $350 – $650 for a whole-home system and is scheduled by appointment with a written price confirmed before work begins. We’re Hollis Air Duct Cleaning, and our Decatur crews handle the specific problems this city’s heavy tree canopy and older housing stock create: pollen-packed returns, flex duct in crawlspaces, and airflow choked by decades of retrofit work. Call us at (361) 326-5060 for a free estimate.
Why Decatur Homes Are Different
Decatur’s dense tree canopy is among the heaviest in metro Atlanta, and it defines the work we do here. In Oakhurst and Winnona Park, massive oaks and sweetgums dump pollen, seed pods, and leaf litter that clog return grilles and outdoor condenser fins within weeks each spring. We’ve pulled pine straw and leaf litter from ducts that was drawn straight through the return.
The housing stock compounds this. Much of in-town Decatur was built between the 1920s and 1950s: bungalows and cottages on pier-and-beam foundations with central HVAC retrofitted decades later. Flex duct runs through crawlspaces and attics where rodents, moisture, and disconnected joints are routine finds. The humid subtropical climate, intense spring pollen, and long, muggy summers drive mold and mildew growth inside ductwork. Annual coil and drain-pan maintenance isn’t optional here; it’s what keeps microbial contamination from circulating through the house.
Our Main Decatur Services
Decatur homeowners call us for three jobs, each with its own page and pricing.
Air Duct Cleaning in Decatur
We clean the full supply and return system using a Rotobrush rotary brush system for agitation and a Nikro negative-air machine to pull debris out under controlled suction. In Decatur’s older homes, we often find flex duct that has sagged, torn, or pulled loose at the collar; we flag it before we start so you’re not paying to clean air that’s leaking into the crawlspace. Dryer Vent Cleaning in Decatur
Dryer vent blockages are a fire hazard and a efficiency killer. In Decatur’s historic neighborhoods, vents often run through walls or under pier-and-beam foundations with multiple turns that trap lint. We clean the full run from the back of the dryer to the exterior termination, verify airflow with a meter, and check that the vent cap isn’t clogged with the same leaf litter that fills the gutters here. Duct Sealing in Decatur
Decatur’s retrofit duct systems leak by design, or rather by age. We seal accessible joints and seams with mastic and reinforced tape, then pressurize the system to measure before-and-after leakage. In a typical 1940s bungalow, we see 25 – 40% of conditioned air lost to the crawlspace before we start; after sealing, that drops to single digits. The homeowner gets cooler rooms, lower bills, and less pollen pulled in through gaps. Duct Sealing in Decatur
